Welcome to the March Newsletter! It's been a busy month, so apologies for the slightly late newsletter! In this edition read about the young people signing up to gain work experience within the ski industry and youth sector through our Big Lottery funded Peak Potential programme. We also have just one week until the Excel young people head to France to complete their attempts to gain ski instructor qualifications, the first Snow-Camp young people ever to get this far! And big news this month - corporate ski event company, The Good City Ski Company, has agreed to donate 50% of it's profit to support Snow-Camp's work! Find out more below, as well as lots of other up-to-date Snow-Camp info...

Plus! We have a £100 voucher from long time supporter Ellis Brigham to give away! To be in with a chance of winning just answer the following question:

Q: In what year was Snow-Camp established?

Send your answer to dan@snow-camp.org.uk and the winner will be drawn at random on Friday 8th April. Good luck!

And now is the time to sign up to Jump for Snow-Camp! Why not leap out of a plane for Snow-Camp this Summer - FREE! Details of our new skydiving event on July 16th are below..

Enjoy this month's update.

Programmes Update - Peak Potential relaunch!

hi_big_e_min_blue

We are very pleased to announce the relaunch our youth volunteering and work experience programme, Peak Potential, this month! Our negotiations with the Big Lottery ended successfully, with confirmation of a further two years of funding for the programme!

Peak Potential provides young people with a range of volunteering and work placement opportunities to enable them to gain skills and experience in the charity sector, youth sector and ski industry. Placements are accredited through the AQA national youth awards scheme, and we are currently looking for new placement opportunities for our young people. If you are a youth programme or ski company and could offer one of our young people a placement as part of the Peak Potential programme - please do get in touch. Full support will be given, and we are sure this will be a rewarding experience for all involved!

The Ski Club of Great Britain have given some fantastic coverage to Snow-Camp this month publishing an article on the charity and the Excel programme.  The Ski Club are keen supporters of Snow-Camp - they have held their Annual Ball to support the charity in the past and regularly promote Snow-Camp through their media. 'The opportunities Snow-Camp offers young people are unrivalled' said the Ski Club's Emma Pearson. 'We are really behind the concept and look forward to seeing the new programme grow and develop'.

Graham Bell to host 2011 City Drinks event

NR balconySnow-Camp supporter Graham Bell has kindly agreed to host our 3rd Annual Snow-Camp City Drinks evening, on 29th June 2011. This event has been a fantastic way to engage City and corporate support for Snow-Camp's work (as well as being very enjoyable!) and we will be making sure this year's event is the best yet! It certainly has the best venue to date, as Norton Rose LLP have generously offered their spectacular roof terrace overlooking the City as a venue for the evening.

City Drinks 2011 will involve brief presentations and a short movie about Snow-Camp's work, an auction and raffle to raise funds for the charity and opportunities to find out about getting your company involved in our corporate sponsorship programmes. Drinks and canapes will be served, and we would love to see over 150 corporate and City individuals attending. If you are interested in attending please email dan@snow-camp.co.uk
