The Snow Ball is trying to address the dire straits that the state of Snowsport GB leaves the British Ski Team in after its announcement of Administration on 5th February 2010.
The team is now lacking the financial security that other nations’ athletes are able to take for granted.
A sporting team should not have to think about their financial future, let alone be saddled with unpaid debts!!
Yet athletes, coaches and support teams are now left out of pocket by this situation.
The sentiment of the public is one of embarrassment and there is a general will to help.
This sentiment must be acted upon, not just for the upcoming Games but also right through to the end of the season, albeit creating a short term solution to a much deeper rooted issue.
If there is no team left then securing longer term sponsorship for the sport will be nigh on impossible.
This is not just an event but also a portal through which you can donate directly to the future of British Ski Racing.....without urgent direct funding, there may be no team in the future.
The funds raised through this event will end up directly in the pockets of those who need it most in British skiing - the athletes and their support groups.
In the short term this may be the only way that the athletes can continue to compete this season.
There will be a raffle with tickets sold online and throughout the night. The current crop of great raffle prizes can be viewed HERE
After dinner there will be an auction with some fantastic lots. Current auction lots can be viewed HERE
There will also be an after dinner Casino with some more prizes to be won. Current casino prizes can be viewed HERE
In order to attend this fantastic event a donation is required per ticket, which includes 2 glasses of wine and 1/2 a bottle of wine (per head) with your ticket.
- Tickets are a minimum donation of £100
- Tables of 10 are minimum donation of £1,000
Of course, if you wish to donate more than this for your ticket we would be more than happy to accept.
